Jasper Circuit Clerk Role
Jasper County court files are handled by the Circuit Clerk of the Twenty-Ninth Judicial Circuit. Kimberly Clinton is identified as Circuit Clerk. The Circuit Clerk site provides access points for Domestic, Civil, Criminal, Traffic, Finance, Probate, schedules, jury service, and forms. That makes the office the central local contact for court filings and copies, but it does not make it the custodian of every county record.

Service windows and phone inquiries run 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with offices closed noon to 1:00 p.m. and on state holidays. The Jasper County Clerk office page shows the separate county administration office that should not be confused with the Circuit Clerk.
That distinction helps prevent court record requests from being sent to the County Clerk when the Circuit Clerk is the correct court custodian.
Jasper Clerk Record Channels
For public court records, the online starting point is Case.net. Jasper County's court site says Case.net provides public access to docket entries, parties, judgments, and charges in public court records. If a file is not online, it may be too old, not public, not yet filed, held by a municipal court, or available only through the clerk or division office. Probate records before June 2000 often need the probate office or index route rather than relying on the statewide portal.

Request Certified Copies
A certified court copy is a copy with clerk certification and seal. It is different from viewing an online docket entry. Court copies are often needed for legal filings, agency requests, employment licensing issues, appeal packets, or proof of a judgment or dissolution. The request should identify the case number when known, the party names, the document needed, and whether a plain copy, certified copy, or authenticated copy is being requested.
- Search Case.net or court paperwork for the case number, party names, filing year, and division.
- Decide whether the record is a Circuit Court file, probate file, or municipal court file.
- Contact the Circuit Clerk or Probate Division with the case details and document name.
- Confirm page count, certification, authentication, mailing, and payment amount before sending money.
- Use the Joplin mail/payment address for general court matters and the Carthage probate address for probate copy requests.
Note: Certified copies and authenticated copies are not the same, and Jasper County fee sources list different authentication amounts.
Jasper Request Form Fields
The probate request form gives the clearest field inventory in the local research, and the same type of information also helps ordinary Circuit Clerk staff locate a file. The form asks for requester details, search details, delivery format, and copy type. It also includes a sensitive SSN field, so that identifier should be provided only through the official form or direct office channel when needed.

Jasper Circuit Clerk Fees
The Circuit Clerk collects court filing deposits, appeal deposits, expungement fees, copy charges, and certification charges listed in the local court fee schedule. Court fees are not the same as Recorder fees for marriage records. Expungement has a local filing fee and may also involve the separate state surcharge under section 488.650, subject to waiver rules.

Clerk Office Boundaries
The County Clerk is separate from the Circuit Clerk. The County Clerk handles County Commission records, elections, voter registration, poll-worker training, candidate filings, ballot distribution, election certification, liquor licenses, notary commissions, and tax levy certification. Those duties are county administration duties, not Circuit Court case-file duties. A request for court pleadings, docket entries, judgments, or certified court copies belongs with the Circuit Clerk or the division that keeps the court file.
The Recorder of Deeds is also separate. Charlotte Pickering's office handles marriage licenses, marriage certificates, land records, military discharges, and liens. A recorded marriage certificate does not become a Circuit Clerk file just because a later divorce occurs. Divorce filings, however, are Family Court and Circuit Court records. That split is why record seekers should identify the event first: license and certificate, divorce case, probate case, civil judgment, criminal charge, traffic ticket, or municipal ordinance case.
Related Jasper Record Sources
Some records that seem court-related may belong outside the Circuit Clerk's office. Joplin Municipal Court handles city traffic infractions and misdemeanors within Joplin city limits, and Carthage Municipal Division handles city municipal matters. Sheriff booking records are sheriff records, not Circuit Clerk records, even if the same arrest later becomes a criminal case. Federal cases involving Jasper County residents are not Jasper County Circuit Court files.
